According to cnn.com President Bush vetoed the war funding bill to start pulling troops from Iraq in 2008. He said "Withdrawal would have increased the probability that coalition troops would be forced to return to Iraq one day and confront an enemy that is even more dangerous. Failure in Iraq should be unacceptable to the civilized world. The risks are enormous."
Personally, I think that Americans have voiced their opinion in reference to the war with the House / Senate vote. I think that was an eye opener in itself for most Republicans (and America as a whole) in where we as a country stand in our beliefs about this war. Why can't Bush just admit defeat as opposed to killing off our troops day by day? Listen to the people. We have spoken.

JetBlue extends service to SFO and is trendy
To commemorate the new service to SFO, JetBlue hopped on the social networking train by teaming up with Going.com (another myspace wannabe where people can post have naked pictures of themselves and attempt to get comments in order to boost their ever so stumbling self esteem). They are going as hipster as possible by have a 3 city concert (Boston, San Francisco & NYC) featuring The Teddy Bears and Albert Hammond Jr so they can get a bunch scenesters to shake their asses and buy some tickets. Talk about taking the hush puppy tipping point theory to literal.
Scarlett Johansson ruins "Just Like Honey"
Not sure who thought it was a good idea to have Scarlett Johansson sing back up vocals for Jesus and Mary Chain but she did at Coachella this past weekend. And by did I mean did it badly. If you listen really closely you can hear her sing not in key and basically ruin one of my favorite songs. If this is a sneak peak into what her Tom Waits cover songs will be like, then she should be slapped. Please continue what you do best, which is looking hot.
Kiera Knightley wants Beth Ditto's body...

I just read on Dlisted.com that Kiera Knightley said that she would love to have the body of Beth Ditto, lead singer of the Gossip. Right. I don't believe that crap for a minute. Apparently Kiera was blamed for the death of a young bulimic girl, because well home girl needs to put some meat on those bones! So she went to "see" a specialist in order to "gain" weight but I have a simple solution for you: it's called food. Try it sometime.
What's the deal with Mr. Wolf?
First and foremost, Patrick Wolf's new album The Magic Position hits stores today. So go out and support! Secondly, I went to his in store at Virgin Megastore in Union Square last night. I must admit that his voice is quite captivating, but his outfit had my attention during the entire performance. He wore this incredible little ensemble that consisted of a blue sequin shirt, baby blue jean shorts (I think they were jean) with matching suspenders. Oh and I can't forget the sparkles next to his eyes. Overall the performance was great though. This was my first time seeing him work the stage and even though there were only 50+ people who came out to support the 11PM signing, he really made it worth their time. By far my favorite song off the album is "Accident and Emergency." I even woke up singing it this morning. It's just one of those songs that gets stuck in your head. For more on Patrick Wolf, head on over to his myspace page and enjoy!

Artic Monkeys....
Apparently on the first day in the UK the Artic Monkeys sold 85K. Any thoughts on what they will sell here? I do have to admit, the later part of Favourite Worst Nightmare is actually quite good! There I said it!
TRL changes it's name?

Okay, okay so MTV fired a bunch of people in an effort to build a new "business model." But during that time they thought it was a good idea to rename TRL "YouRL? " Ummm are they on crack? Who thought that was a good idea? Just because YouTube is a big sensation and now Universal / NBC is releasing "NewTube" (which is also not very inventive) in the near future, so why did MTV think youRL was a good re-branding attempt? I think not....keep trying MTV. Maybe if you actually went back to playing videos that were actually good then you'd increase your viewership.
Pure genius.

Recycling is not just a hippy movement....

This weekend I was having some beers in a sushi place in Williamsburg. I was about to throw away the beer bottles when I noticed that they didn't have a separate recycling bin. I asked if they had one in the back (that's my inner hippy speaking) and the guy basically laughed in my face. Not that I'm one of those people to yell when you don't recycle, but come on! YOU ARE A RESTAURANT THAT GENERATES ABOVE AVERAGE AMOUNTS OF TRASH!@#?!@ WHY DON'T YOU RECYCLE DAMMIT. I tried to bargain with the guy to say how I've been recycling for a long time, yadda yadda yadda, but this didn't seem to phase him in the least bit. In light of the what I would call ignorant thinking, I stumbled across this gcylce site about recycling old batters, tech stuff and gadgets, etc. Even though I consider myself somewhat educated in the recycling field I never once thought about batteries and old gadgets?!!?! So who's the ignorant one now? None-the-less, the cute animation and fish slapping antics have made me even more aware of what it means to save the environment. See for yourself.
Wiiiiiiiiiii

I finally had the opportunity to get my own little hands on a Wii this weekend. My roommate has managed to snag her self one and it has brought instant gratification to my days. All I have to say is AWESOME!?! The controllers are quite sensitive, but once you get the hang of it you are in for an automatic good time. My only complaint thus far is how badly my upper body hurts from the boxing game. That's definitely not a bad thing, but who would have thought that you can work out while enjoying stoner-esque good times! Not I! I think that this is an excellent opportunity to introduce exercise into the youth of America who are battling obesity due to parents allowing them to shove McDonalds down their throats day in and day out. The following link discusses the current rise in obesity and how if it stays as steady as it has been that it will beat smoking as one of the single biggest causes in preventable deaths. So for those Americans who are too lazy to walk around the block a couple of times or to at least break out the bicycle for the beautiful weather we have going on, the Wii is your solution to laziness.
